Nulity

The Irish Courts may annul a marriage through the mechanism of a Decree of Nullity. The Court must be satisfied that a marriage was either void or voidable.

While technically a marriage which was void does not require formal proceedings, it is usually of great comfort and far safer to proceed with the application for the purposes of certainty.
